COMPANY HISTORY
In 1980, the typical machine shop in Tucson, Arizona was set up to repair or make very large parts of the copper mining variety.
A 1,000 lb. shaft having a scored bearing surface, would be arc welded up and then turned down to a diameter of ± .005". This was considered to be a high precision job! Having newly arrived from Southern California, the owners of Parallel Ventures, Inc. decided to establish a new standard here of high quality, precision machining. We began business as a tool and gage shop, and quickly earned the distinction as the only machine shop for National Semiconductor, themselves just a small company beginning to operate here out of a 5,000 square foot leased space in a Grant Road industrial park. This was right around the advent, and subsequent development of the Personal Computer and its corresponding boom. With the digital age dawning overall, Parallel Ventures, Inc played a key role in leading a growing town dependent on the mines, into the more refined realm of what is now known as high-tech manufacturing. IBM Corporation had also just built a new production facility here during this time period, and became the next step in the further growth of Parallel Ventures, Inc. Our company incorporated both design and engineering experience into the mix of high-tech manufacturing capabilities, and grew steadily towards a more CNC oriented direction, just as this new machine shop technology happened to be evolving simultaneously.
Today, Parallel Ventures, Inc. routinely produces high-tech products at the highest end of the precision spectrum. So whether it's high precision, high production, or both together, we look forward to helping you move forward, sucessfully.
And in the process, we both create a richer, more satisfying company history to look back upon.
